Festival of the City of Zgierz - a modern city after hours

It was really a blast! As usual, on the first weekend of June (June 3-4), the inhabitants of Zgierz celebrated a two-day festival of the city. Outstanding guests appeared on the stage (Agnieszka Chylińska, Tomasz Karolak, Przemysław Saleta), and in the tent of the project "Zgierz - a modern city after hours" everyone could download the city application free of charge. More than 300 people took advantage of this opportunity.  

The tent of the project, implemented in Zgierz as part of the "Local Development" program, was one of the most visited places of the two-day exhibition of the City of Zgierz Festival. The rules of our game were very simple: whoever installed a free application on their smartphone (created as a product as part of the promotion of the project) could roll a large dice. The indicated number of points determined the type of prize awarded. Among them were umbrellas, small arcade games and also designed bags - all gadgets made as part of project activities. 

In addition, each participant of the game received a leaflet containing information about important places worth visiting in Zgierz, as well as a calendar of the most important events and a QR code, also enabling the download of the "app". The result of the outdoor promotional campaign was over three hundred new downloads of the city application during the two days of the event! 

Currently, at the end of June 2023, the city application management system records over 2,200 original users. We are pleased with the fact that the outdoor campaigns undertaken since the beginning of spring as part of the promotion of the project "Zgierz - a modern city after hours" help to a large extent in attracting new users of our product. 

The application of the City of Zgierz, the new version of which was created thanks to the "Local Development" program, contains a number of useful functionalities, e.g. access to the most current news and events from the city calendar (published on the City of Zgierz website with immediate appearance in the application window). The "Report a problem" function is very much appreciated, thanks to which residents can establish direct, virtual contact with the appropriate employee of the Zgierz City Hall. This person is obliged to take immediate action after receiving a report on an irregularity found in the city and reported by the application user. 

Creating a new version of the city application as well as conducting event activities promoting its functionalities is possible thanks to the implementation by the City of Zgierz of the Project "Zgierz - a modern city after hours", co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the "Local Development" program.
