The new application of Zgierz City is now available

You can now download the city application of Zgierz in a new, refreshed version. In addition to the attractive graphic design, the app gains several new functionalities. Its particular advantage is the possibility of being "up to date" with important events in the life of the city.

As a source of news, the application works flawlessly: it offers instant access to city news and events that automatically appear on the phone as soon as they are published on the website www.miasto.zgierz.pl. A freshly posted event or news is visible as a new message next to the app icon. The "Favorites" function is helpful here, allowing you to store descriptions of events of your choice separately.

The function of receiving notifications is important - thanks to the push function, the user immediately learns about a crisis situation in the city or region (weather, air quality). A novelty is the waste collection calendar, which also sends notifications about upcoming dates. The system also gives information when the obligation to pay the tax is approaching.

Compared to the old version of the city app, the new one is much more interactive. This function is performed not only by the notification system. The application allows you to easily report various problems or faults. It can be, for example, a dangerous place, street lighting failure, a problem with waste disposal or an illegal garbage dump. All you have to do is select the report category in the app, take a photo, press the locate button - and submit the report.

- Depending on the category, the report is sent as an email to the appropriate department of the Zgierz City Hall - Robert Chocholski, City Secretary, explains. - After receiving this message, the system automatically sends the sender a notification about the current status of settling the case. The person who receives the report also has the option of answering the reporter himself.

The app can be used anonymously, you do not need to create an account or provide any data. The application only asks for permission to access the push notification system, the calendar (to save the date of the event you are interested in - and remind you of it the day before), the photo storage (to be able to add a photo to the problem reporting system) and a GPS receiver (to be able to download the precise location and assign it to the report).

The new application of the City of Zgierz is free and can be downloaded from the most important stores:

Users of the existing application do not have to worry: downloading the new version overwrites the old one.

Download the new Zgierz application - and stay up to date!

The creation of a new version of the application was possible thanks to the participation of the City in the "Zgierz - a modern city after hours" project co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the "Local Development" program.
